- I-24 does not traverse Bedford. Shelbyville-oriented interstate access is typically US 231 north into Rutherford to I-24 Exit 81 (US 231 / SR 10, Murfreesboro).
- TDOT Spot Safety: US 231 @ SR 82 (Bell Buckle area) - contract awarded 2025-05-22; turn lanes + signals; expected completion 2026-05-31.
- TDOT / CTPG corridor studies also cover US 41A / SR 16 and SR 437 Shelbyville Bypass.
- Wartrace town site: short drive to I-24 heading SW on Hwy 64.
- ACS mean travel time to work 28.4 min (countywide workers, ACS 2020–2024). That is not a downtown-Nashville door-to-door ETA.
